Automatic spectrophotometric procedures for the determination of the total amount of dissolved carbohydrates in sea water

摘要: Abstract Five different reagents for carbohydrates, anthrone, phenol, orcinol, N-ethylcarbazole and l -tryptophan have been tested their possible use in automatic procedures the determination of total amount dissolved carbohydrates sea water utilizing Autolab equipment. In investigated range, 0–4 mg carbohydrate per litre, all except phenol could be used analysis with standard outfit. Due to fact that various sugars give least spread spectra calibration curves no salinity dependence was found, reagent is recommended.
