摘要: We present Heinrich Hertz Telescope CO (3-2) observations of a sample 10 early-type galaxies detected both in far-infrared (IRAS) and (1-0). Six the objects (i.e., 60% sample) were transition. Comparison beam-matched (3-2)/CO (1-0) (2-1)/CO intensity ratios with simple large velocity gradient photodissociation region models reveals that can be broadly classified into two categories. The majority have molecular interstellar medium moderate density (n ≤1000 cm-3) temperature (T ≤ 30 K). Two objects, NGC 3593 4691, show indications quite denser warmer environments, as well gradients their physical properties, compatible classification starbursts. heating source gas dust all our appears to ongoing star formation.
