摘要: Glucocorticoids are human steroid hormones secreted by the adrenal cortex that play a critical role in several biologic processes. At “pharmacologic” or “stress-related” doses, glucocorticoids irreplaceable therapeutic means for many allergic, inflammatory, autoimmune, and lymphoproliferative diseases. also remain cornerstone of treatment certain life-threatening endocrinopathies childhood, such as congenital hyperplasia, Addison disease, replacement therapy subjects with secondary hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis deficit. In this chapter physiology is described. addition, approach to glucocorticoid most relevant childhood (i.e., Cushing disease) elucidated.
