摘要: Past research has found that subjective questions about an individuals'economic status do not correspond closely to measures of economic welfare based on household income or consumption. Survey respondents undoubtedly hold diverse ideas what it means be"poor"or"rich."Further, this heterogeneity may be correlated with other characteristics, including welfare, leading frame-of-reference bias. To test for bias, vignettes were added a nationally representative survey Tajikistan, in which rank the theoretical vignette households, as well their own. The rankings are used reveal respondent's own scale. findings indicate scales assessing but there is little bias either gradient most coefficients covariates interest. These results provide firmer foundation standard methods and regression specifications data.
