摘要: Abstract The heterogeneous disease course of COVID-19 is unpredictable, ranging from mild self-limiting symptoms to cytokine storms, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), multi-organ failure and death. Identification high-risk cases will enable appropriate intervention escalation. This study investigates the routine laboratory tests cytokines implicated in for their potential application as biomarkers severity, need higher-level care. From analysis 203 samples, CRP, IL-6, IL-10 LDH were most strongly correlated with WHO ordinal scale illness fraction inspired oxygen delivery, radiological evidence ARDS level support (p≤0.001). IL-6 levels ≥3.27pg/ml provide a sensitivity 0.87 specificity 0.64 requirement ventilation, CRP ≥37mg/L 0.91 0.66. Reliable stratification has significant implications on patient triage, resource management potentially initiation novel therapies severe patients.
