Multi-ancestry sleep-by-SNP interaction analysis in 126,926 individuals reveals lipid loci stratified by sleep duration

摘要: Both short and long sleep are associated with an adverse lipid profile, likely through different biological pathways. To elucidate the biology of sleep-associated we conduct multi-ancestry genome-wide sleep-SNP interaction analyses on three traits (HDL-c, LDL-c triglycerides). In total study sample (discovery + replication) 126,926 individuals from 5 ancestry groups, when considering either or time interactions in joint analyses, identify 49 previously unreported loci, 10 additional loci a restricted European-ancestry cohorts. addition, new gene-sleep for known such as LPL PCSK9. The have modest explained variance levels: most notable, gene-short-sleep explain 4.25% triglyceride level. Collectively, these findings contribute to our understanding mechanisms involved profiles.
