摘要: A novel heteropolysaccharide produced by strains of Enterobacter sakazakii, such as sakazakii ATCC 53017, 29004, and 12868, is disclosed. The comprises from about 13 to 22 percent weight L-fucose, 19 24 D-galactose, 23 30 D-glucose, 0 8 D-mannose, 29 32 glucuronic acid, said ranges based on total carbohydrate; the further comprising 1 1.5 equivalents ester per equivalent neutral sugar. has many uses a suspending, thickening, or stabilizing agent, particularly useful frictional drag reduction agent in aqueous systems.
