Seventy Years of Aeropropulsion Research at NASA Glenn Research Center

摘要: This paper presents a brief overview of air-breathing propulsion research conducted at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Glenn Research Center (GRC) over last 70 years. It includes historical perspective center its various stages in response to country’s different periods crises growth opportunities. The GRC’s technology development covered broad spectrum, from short-term focus on improving energy efficiency aircraft engines advancing frontier technologies high-speed aviation supersonic hypersonic speed regimes. highlights major programs, showing their impact industry propulsion, briefly discusses current programs future aeropropulsion trends related areas.
