摘要: A multi-service network switch capable of providing multiple services from a single platform. The incorporates distributed packet forwarding architecture where each the various cards is making independent decisions. further allows for dynamic resource management dynamically assigning modem and ISDN resources to an incoming call. may also include fault features guard against points failure within switch. partitioning into virtual routers router has its own set routing table. Each partitioned private networks controlling access network. switch's supports policy based specific paths are selected domain name, telephone number, like. provides tiered Internet by defining quality levels connection request. support IP protocol in which layer two protocols physical interface they run on. Furthermore, includes generic software hiding details transmitting receiving packets over different types.
