摘要: Objective The role of complementary medicine techniques has generated increasing interest in today's society. purpose our study was to evaluate the effects one technique, self-hypnosis, and its coronary artery bypass surgery. We hypotesize that self-hypnosis relaxation will have a positive effect on patient's mental physical condition following Experimental design A prospective, randomized trial conducted. Patients were followed beginning day prior surgery until time discharge from hospital. Setting conducted at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, large tertiary care teaching institution. All patients undergoing first-time elective eligible. total 32 into two groups. Interventions group taught preoperatively, with no therapy control group. Measures Outcome variables studied included anesthetic requirements, operative parameters, postoperative pain medication quality life, hospital stay, major morbidity mortality. Results who significantly more relaxed postoperatively compared (p=0.032). Pain requirements also less practising those noncompliant (p=0.046).
