摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the magnetic properties of ternary intermetallic rare-earth compounds. The values effective moments are deduced from temperature dependence susceptibility. disagreement between experimental and rare earth's free-ion is a result strong coupling conduction electrons with localized moments. In RKKY theory, moment given by formula, described in chapter. compounds discussed, determined transition metal atoms T, except for Mn, do not carry These materials have metallic character interatomic distances fairly large. interaction highly 4f realized their mediating an exchange interaction, effects crystalline electric fields (CEF) acting on electrons. also reviews influence these factors properties. earths, interactions mediated spin polarization leads to long-range oscillatory strength distance
