摘要: Abstract An investigation is undertaken into the bidirectional configuration of liquid column vibration absorber (LCVA), in which horizontal and vertical columns may have different cross-sectional areas depending on performance requirements. The LCVA appears as a rectangular annulus plan mitigates vibrations structure free to move plane by gravitational restoring force acting displaced liquid, energy dissipation occurring through viscous interaction between rigid container well transition effects occur moves LCVA. various configurations are studied experimentally when installed primary subjected external sinusoidal loading. A theoretical model response presented modelled an equivalent solid mass (SIVIVA) found agree with experimental data. parameters allow optimization investigated, methods allowing their prediction control also presented.
