摘要: A review of the literature (ca 1900 to 1992) on copepod feeding indicates that combinations stochashc and deterministic processes result in behaviors, or strategies, optirnize nutritional gain from food environment, further, strategies change response environmental variability. Because diet is product a strategy, one may insight into ways which copepods respond their environments by measuring diets. Investigations hnks between production suggest dietary diversity often key procurement nutritionally complete ration, optimization secondary within constraints dictated physical environment. The ability eat different kinds foods (ornnivory) tendency include variety daily ration enhance probabhty obtaining variable, dilute, environments. notion relationshp driven clletary derived part recent recognition microplanktonic organisms potentially actually contribute diet. Further, concept consistent with current trophic dynamic models webs are envisioned as complex interwoven systems rather than short, simple chains.
