摘要: This paper seeks to provide background information about the mobility of blind with regard possibility providing instrumented aids. The first part gives some description population and defines terms used. second deals status existing systems, in particular roles cane guide dogs. last section a short account recent attempts at instrumentation includes an evaluation trial most guidance aid. discussion contains suggestions for further research. theme is that advances field are limited by lack knowledge characteristics rather than physical or engineering considerations.
