摘要: The treatment of skull base tumors has undergone a tremendous change within the past decade. This been largely technology driven, but also secondary to advances in surgical technique and instrumentation.A new subspecialty created, bringing neurosurgeons together with otologists, head neck surgeons, plastic surgeons specifically address these very complex problems level expertise not seen before. Teams have formed dedicated helping patients previously thought harbor little hope recovery. techniques which developed treat such lesions are without question highest complexity sophistication modern medicine. Likewise, adjuvant therapies for take advantage latest technology. In particular tumors, stereotactic radiosurgery plays major role many cases. Despite demonstrated successes conventional radiotherapy limiting further tumor growth, at mandated different approach. is owing anatomy involved therelative inability completely shield adjacent structures, as sensitive cranial nerves or brainstem. importance elements strategy mean that an optimal outcome more likely be achieved when delivered by multidisciplinary team who frequently.
