摘要: The brighter main band of the Jovian ring, which is tenuous and exhibits little substructure, lies in equatorial plane at 1.7-1.8 Jupiter radii, R(J); this well within Roche limit. Since dynamical evolution times survival lifetimes for micron grains are order less than 100-1000 years, visible ring must be continuously replenished.
