摘要: We report the composition of terrestrial arthropod collections made at Cierva Point Site Special Scientific Interest, Dance Coast (northern Antarctic Peninsula, 64 degrees 10'S - 60 57'W), during 1994/5 and 1995/6 austral summers. A total 15 free-living micro-arthropod species were found in hand heat extractions 12 different substrate types, including one Diptera, three Collembala 11 Acari. In addition, vertebrate parasitic tick was recorded (Acari, Metastigmata), probably introduced ''show scorpion fly'' (Insecta, Mecoptera), least Astigmata (Acari), which may be either or nidicolous. Greatest diversity mosses-and algal mats (13 species), although within individual samples it similar (5-6 per sample) from most low-altitude vegetated open habitats. population densities alga, Prasiola crispa. With exception vertebrate-associated species, obtained nest material vicinity bird colonies, mast micro-arthropods generally distributed, with widely-varying abundance. Species slightly lower than, but to, that recent detailed studies other sites maritime Antarctic. This indicates a fauna representative general, two collembolan Isotoma octooculata oribatid mite Globoppia loxolineata, present more widely than reported eleswhere.
