摘要: [1] We seek to improve scientific understanding of urban storm event hydrologic response through analyses rainfall and discharge data for the Baltimore metropolitan region. High-resolution data, 1 km2 15 min radar 5 discharge, provide detail necessary accurately characterize in small basins. We examine flood-producing properties nine watersheds region including seven urbanized basins, a forested basin, an agricultural basin. find expected contrasts flood peak distributions runoff production between nonurban watersheds, but we also spectrum among watersheds. Moores Run Dead are end-members this spectrum, with producing anomalously large magnitudes ratios. Analyses show that timing linked stormwater management infrastructure play central role response. Detention basins these appear operate as intended by legislation lower discharges not volumes. Antecedent moisture does significantly impact or The climatology storms varies from watershed frequency displaying pronounced warm season maximum, highlighting thunderstorm systems flooding Baltimore.
