摘要: Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are polyesters, usually of 3-hydroxycarboxylic acids, accumulated as inclusion bodies by bacteria. At least two classes PHAs exist. Each is composed many different homo- and copolymers. Most can be produced from renewable resources, readily environmentally degradable, relatively resistant to abiotic hydrolysis. Polymers with reactive groups in their side chains synthesized allow further chemical processing, leading an even greater selection polymeric materials. Thermomechanical properties vary hard brittle elastomeric tough. From the poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) copolymer alone, blow-molded, injection-molded, woven fiber, coated paper products have been fabricated. Other biologically such optical purity, compatibility human tissue, piezoelectric make these materials great commercial interest. They would certainly find wide application if it were not for present high cost production.
