摘要: The centromere is a highly organized structure mainly composed of repeat sequences, which make this region extremely difficult for sequencing and other analyses. It plays conserved role in equal division chromosomes into daughter cells both mitosis meiosis. However, sequences show notable plasticity. In dicentric chromosome, one the centromeres can become inactivated with underlying DNA unchanged. Furthermore, formerly inactive regain activity under certain conditions. addition, neocentromeres without centromeric repeats have been found wide spectrum species. This evidence indicates that epigenetic mechanisms together are associated specification.
