摘要: Diabetes and the ageing process independently increase risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Since incidence of diabetes increases as people get older, diabetic older adults represent largest population subjects. This group patients would potentially be threatened by development CVD related to both diabetes. The relationship between CVD, is explained negative impact these conditions on vascular function. Functional clinical evidence supports role inflammation induced in impairment CVD. Inflammatory mechanisms aged vasculature include pro-inflammatory cytokines, hyperactivation nuclear factor-кB, increased expression cyclooxygenase inducible nitric oxide synthase, imbalanced pro/anti-inflammatory microRNAs, dysfunctional stress-response systems (sirtuins, Nrf2). In contrast, there are scarce data regarding interaction when co-exist its Older animals humans display higher than those either or diabetic, suggesting that chronic low-grade creates a environment favouring damage driven Further research needed determine specific inflammatory responsible exacerbated subjects order design effective therapeutic interventions minimize inflammation. help prevent delay manifestations (cognitive decline, frailty disability) promoted diabetes-induced elderly.
