摘要: Acinetobacter baumannii is an important nosocomial pathogen. BamA a protein that belongs to complex responsible for organizing the proteins on bacterial outer membrane. In this work, we aimed evaluate murine immune responses recombinant (rAbBamA) from A. in animal model of infection, and assess cross-reactivity target development anti-A. vaccines or diagnostics. Immunization mice with rAbBamA elicited high antibody titers recognition native BamA. Immunofluorescence also detected binding surface. After challenge, immunized demonstrated 40% survival increase better clearance kidneys. Immunoblot anti-rAbBamA against other medically relevant bacteria showed approximately 35 kDa Klebsiella pneumoniae Escherichia coli lysates, primarily identified as OmpA OmpC, respectively. Altogether, our data show antibodies provide protective response infection mice. However, by immunization not completely specific baumannii. Although broad-spectrum vaccine protects various pathogens appealing strategy, reactivity human microbiota undesired. fact, produced noticeable effects gut microbiota. changes were small non-specific, given no significant abundance Proteobacteria observed. Overall, promising target, but specificity must be considered immunological tools
