摘要: The physiology of pre-flight warm-up in Manduca sexta was analysed with regard to rate heat production, regional partitioning between thorax and abdomen, the control blood circulation. 1. When moths which have come equilibrium ambient temperature undergo warm-up, thoracic increases linearly until flight (37-39 °C) is approached. 2. increase during directly from about 2 °C/min at 15 °C 7.6 30 °C. 3. abdomen remains near throughout period but initial part post-flight cooling while declines sharply abdominal temperatures rise appreciably. 4. During wing vibration temperature. At a 8/sec 35 it 25/sec. 5. resting animals are held by legs they once begin beat their wings through wide angle. These beats any given slower than vibrations characteristic normal cause almost rate. 6. removal scales causes decrease still air this does not prevent reaching temperature. 7. greater live freshly killed ones. difference rates related temperature. 8. In heart pulsations usually variable rate, amplitude, rhythm, sometimes direction, records cardiac activity simultaneously obtained show close correspondence. 9. changes impedance electrodes indicate that either absent, greatly reduced, or frequency different recorded thorax. 10. calculated production temperature. 11. Our data consistent assumption produced sequestered there reduction circulation abdomen. 12. Rates insects values predicted on basis body weight heterothermic birds animals.
