摘要: Summary Dps is a non-specific DNA-binding protein abundant In starved Escherichia eoii ceiis and important for the defence against hydrogen peroxide. We found that dps mRNA leveis are controiied by rpoS-encoded a^, transcriptionai activator OxyR histoneiike iHF protein, in exponentiaily growing ceiis, induced treatment with peroxide an OxyR-dependen t manner. This OxyR-dependent induction occurs oniy during iog phase, aithough present stationary phase ceits, expressed a^- iHF-dependent The purified proteins aiso shown to bind upstream of promoter.
