摘要: This report presents the findings of a regional study on poverty and income distribution in Latin America Caribbean. The was undertaken because significance these issues paucity statistical information recent trends region. Moreover, impact that economic recession 1980s had poor needed to be assessed, particularly light reduced spending per capita public social programs. analysis points 3 principal conclusions: 1) average, increased worsened; 2) there is strong evidence both inequality mirrored cycle, rising during falling recovery; 3) educational attainment has greatest correlation with probability being poor.
