摘要: Background. Electrochemotherapy is a new antitumor treatment consisting of electrical pulses administered to the tumor several minutes after intravenous injection bleomycin. In mice, important effects were observed on subcutaneously transplanted tumors and spontaneously occurring mammary carcinomas. Cures obtained one single combining bleomycin electric pulses. humans, permeation nodules seemed an adequate oncologic situation assay this procedure. The authors report first Phase I-II trial electrochemotherapy. Methods. Eight patients with 40 head neck squamous cell carcinomas treated 10 mg/m2 bolus, followed by four or eight short (100 μseconds) intense (1300 V/cm) through two external electrodes located each side nodule. Results. An instantaneous painless contraction underlying muscles was regularly observed. Neither local nor general observed, electrochemotherapy well tolerated. addition, clear efficacy found: 23 (57%) in clinical complete response within few days. Conclusion. absence toxicity, good tolerance patients, net are encouraging for additional developments oncology.
