摘要: The asialoglycoprotein receptor is an abundant heterooligomeric endocytic that predominantly expressed on the sinusoidal surface of hepatocytes. Proposed physiological and pathophysiological functions ascribed to this hepatic lectin (HL) include removal desialylated serum glycoproteins apoptotic cells, clearance chylomicron remnants, a role as homing for lymphatic metastatic cells. assembly two homologous subunits, HL-1 HL-2, required form functional, high affinity receptors cell surface. However, importance individual subunits transport has been controversial. To explore significance minor HL-2 subunit expression function in vivo, we have disrupted gene mice. Homozygous HL-2-deficient animals are superficially normal. liver greatly reduced, indicating may promote stability. Although these mice completely unable clear asialoorosomucoid, ligand receptor, they do not accumulate or lipoproteins their circulation.
