摘要: The nephelometer experiment carried on the Galileo probe was designed to measure jovian cloud structure and its microphysical characteristics from entry down atmospheric pressure levels greater than 10 bars. Before this mission there no direct evidence for existence of clouds below uppermost layer, only theoretical models derived remote sensing observations were available describing such clouds. Only one significant with a base at about 1.55 bars found along descent trajectory an ambient 0.4 bar, although many indications small densities particle concentrations noted during much descent.
