摘要: The disappearance of arthropod corpses in a temperate grassland the Mediterranean coast (Barcelona, Spain) has been analyzed this study. mean time which stayed out field is less than five minutes (x= 285 ± 282 s), range 2-2228 s. This holds true cleared areas as well high vegetation areas. Ants are principal scavengers type remains, although species that collect them vary according to day and season year, with corpses’disappearance being most rapid during middle hours day, precisely when ants’density on ground less. reason for was peak daytime abundance insectivore, opportunisms ants. Anyway, short lapse prey stay - at any can be considered an indirect estimate scarcity these resources.
