摘要: This study focuses on ethnic competition as a contextual explanation of cross-national differences in anti-immigrant prejudice. It contributes to the existing literature by refining concept into socio-economic and cultural aspect, which is reflected two different measures outgroup size. To improve comparability, size measure based foreign country birth instead citizenship. Moreover, does not only competition, but also contact opportunities familiarity with immigration, intergroup theory taken account non-linear relationship between perceived threat tested. employs multi-level linear regression uses first round data set European Social Survey. The main conclusions this analysis are that economic social groups might play lesser role attitudes than often assumed, it be rather lacking fear conflict over values culture drive attitudes.
