摘要: In the present work authors report result of their food ethnobotanical researches, which have been carried out in Sicily during last thirty years. Data concerning 188 wild species used traditional Sicilian cuisine are reported. The underline those that partially or completely unknown for culinary use and they illustrate other local inhabitants suggested prevention treatment symptomatologies caused by a refined diet, poor vegetables. These data want to contribute avoid loss knowledge on uses recipes botanicals, encourage further studies not yet sufficiently researched chemical nutritional profile. may also suggest new applications few botanicals medico-nutritional fields. includes short review seaweeds mushrooms traditionally gathered consumed Sicily.
