摘要: Exploratory work has been undertaken to compare the performance of nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC) with fumed silica in styrene/acrylic latex coatings. NCC emerged as a promising candidate for reinforcement polymeric materials because its impressive mechanical properties and renewable nature. However, better understanding nanocomposites, compared more conventional silica-filled systems, is critical identify feasible commercial applications NCC. While dispersion nanomaterials polymer matrices often challenge, by working hydrophilic nanoparticles waterborne latex, authors demonstrate that both were dispersed coatings (up 9 wt% loadings).
