摘要: During hazardous events, communities can use existing social media networks to share information in real time and initiate a local disaster response. This research conducted web-based survey explore two behaviors around the of during hurricanes: seeking help responding requests. Through survey, we sampled 434 individuals across several counties affected by 2018 hurricanes Florence Michael, which were both designated National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration as billion-dollar weather disasters. The questions collected data about demographics, habits, perceptions towards media, hurricane damages, actions taken seek provide help. Theory Planned Behavior (TPB) was used conceptualize frame parameters that affect intentions regarding Survey responses are analyzed using statistical regression evaluate hypotheses influence factors on Regression analyses indicate attitude perceived behavioral control predict intention access hurricane, partially supporting TPB. Intention experiencing urgent damages help-seeking media. Posting frequency under normal conditions number requests seen event help-responding behaviors.
