Is job insecurity on the rise? Evidence from Canadian perception data

摘要: This paper examines the unexplored issue of worker insecurity perception in Canada. Specifically, we explore for changes perceptions job security using Canadian Gallup data 1977–2006 period. We find that high levels perceived early to mid-1990s were only cyclical nature, not evidence structural change. also differences across socio-economic groups and university educated workers, full-time white-collar workers all felt relatively more secure about present future prospects. Interestingly, union members tend be concerned (than non-union). Il appert que hauts niveaux percue du debut milieu annees 90 etaient nature cyclique, et non pas resultat d'un changement structurel. On aussi entre groupes socio-economiques, decouvre avec une formation universitaire, temps plein, collets blancs se sentaient relativement plus en securite quant aux perspectives presentes futures. est interessant noter syndiques sont davantage inquiets non-syndiques.
