European institutional accreditation of general thoracic surgery.

摘要: To improve standardization of general thoracic surgery (GTS) practice across Europe, the European Society Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) has implemented a program Institutional Accreditation. We reviewed methods and rules engagement this program. A composite performance score (CPS) including outcome process indicators is used to measure institutional assess eligibility for accreditation. Eligible units are invited participate accept local audit performed by an external auditors team composed data inspectors surgeons. In addition quality, series structural, procedural qualification characteristics inspected. Once visit complete, will produce report be sent members database committee deliberation on accreditation that unit. The Database send executive ESTS Executive Committee their final decision
