摘要: Despite intensive investigation of mammalian chromosomes, we are still largely ignorant the basic rules that govern their organization, structure, and functions. This situation results from current limitations in available technologies to elucidate structures such complex biological systems. Whereas powerful techniques molecular biology have successfully addressed at high resolution functional problems level nucleic acid sequences, many lower questions concerning architecture cell nucleus, long range order higher chromatin remain unanswered. Techniques now emerging should help remedy this situation. The use confocal microscopy with probes will tell us light microscope a great deal about organization nucleus how it changes different types; advanced sources potential image hydrated systems down 10 nm, scanning electron tunneling atomic force microscopies demonstrated ability molecules though usefully biomolecules as DNA remains be demonstrated.
