摘要: Sediment in central Eckernforde Bay is characterized by beds of clay-sized material, with slightly coarser laminations (~ 10% silt and sand). Excess234Th activity indicates that mixing limited to the upper 1 cm. Accumulation rates (210Pb geochronology) range from 3 over 10 mm yr−1. Relatively high accumulation absence a significant mixed layer bay allow fluctuations sedimentological processes be recorded detail. Sediment-transport studies suggest are caused alternating deposition storm-suspended sediments adjacent shallow-water fair-weather supply fine suspended material advected Kiel Bight.
