摘要: Management of Australian wetlands is confounded by an absence adequate environmental monitoring data. To a large extent we are still not sure the exact location and many wetlands. Inventory information intricately linked at heart successful wetland management. Monitoring addresses change in environment, yet, for wetlands, it rarely based on valid scientific principles. also research tool, but has not, until relatively recently, been accepted as integral to effort management, part because questions that may be answered have well defined or articulated. The rigorous input design contributed devaluing past long-term effort. turn this around ensure managers receive timely data need enhance rigor applied monitoring. This requires strategic support. complex process involves sectors society. Involving these recently received some attention, universal necessarily supported. challenge correct situation take advantage community interest conservation provide mechanisms more cost effective A protocol presented. series logical steps assist development implementation programs effectively management procedures (such formal plan). includes review could result termination program achieved its goals, abandonment revamping one failed.
