摘要: Eating disorders are associated with alterations of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Among other indices, heart rate variability (HRV) provides a readily available index ANS function. While dysfunction indexed by HRV in Anorexia Nervosa has been addressed previous reviews, here we aimed to review current evidence on Bulimia (BN). A systematic literature search Web Science, PsycInfo, Scopus, and PubMed identified 17 studies reporting patients BN. Studies described (i) differences resting state compared controls, (ii) stress response BN HRV, (iii) treatment effects Despite number conflicting results, conclude that is characterized increased vagally-mediated an impaired stress-response. Intervention-studies suggest altered ANS-activity at least partially reversible. Future complex relation between should investigate effect comorbid disorders, subtypes BN, mechanisms affecting outcome.
