摘要: This study investigated the prevalence of bacterial pathogens urinary tract in Australian cats. Urine was collected by cystocentesis and subjected to urinalysis, culture susceptibility testing. A total 126 isolates were obtained from 107 culture-positive Escherichia coli most commonly isolated (37.3% isolates) with majority showing 14 antimicrobials tested. Just over a quarter (27.0%) Enterococcus faecalis, which showed resistance cephalosporins clindamycin. Staphylococcus felis, previously unreported feline pathogen susceptible all antimicrobial agents tested, comprised 19.8% isolates. S. felis significantly associated urine that had higher specific gravity (p=0.011) pH (p=0.006) more likely contain crystals (p=0.002) than other species isolated. is first published associates isolation clinical signs lower disease
