Stratification of discharge in noble gases from the viewpoint of the discrete dynamics

摘要: Based on the analysis of electron phase trajectories in sinusoidal electric fields, a new point view discharge stratification is proposed. It shown that positive column can be considered as spatial resonator which fields with fundamental period length LS or higher mode qpLS establish, where p and q are integers p > q. The equivalent to distance electrons gain energy equal lowest excitation threshold. This determines S-striation.
