摘要: Abstract The adsorption of H2O and HCl on single crystal α-Al2O3(0001) at stratospheric temperatures was studied using laser-induced thermal desorption (LITD) temperature programmed (TPD) techniques. surface used to model Al2O3 exhaust particles from solid rocket motors. coverages may influence heterogeneous chemistry ∼200–270 K. Compared with earlier measurements 298–300 K, the saturation both were approximately two times higher 210 K. 210 K ΘH2O=4.4×1014 molecules/cm2 ΘHCl=2.0×1014 molecules/cm2. sticking coefficients for also than corresponding 298–300 K. (S) ∼0.08 lowest coverages. TPD spectra revealed that occurred over a broad range temperatures. These results indicate adsorb onto wide distribution binding sites surface. LITD predict α-Al2O3 will be covered chemisorbed under conditions. Additional exposure can replace adsorbed species, respectively, by exchange reactions.
