摘要: Objective: To compare the effectiveness of triclosan/copolymer and fluoride dentifrices in improving plaque control gingival health. Search strategy: We searched Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, MEDLINE (1986to March 2003) EMBASE (1986 to 2003). Personal files reference lists all articles were checked for further studies. Selection criteria: selected if they met following random allocation participants; participants adults with gingivitis; unsupervised use at least 6 months; primary outcomes - gingivitis after months. Data collection analysis: Two reviewers independently extracted information. For each index, mean differences study pooled as weighted (WMDs) appropriate 95% confidence intervals (CIs) using effect models. Main results: Sixteen trials provided data meta-analysis. The triclosan/ copolymer dentifrice significantly improved compared a dentifrice, WMD -0.48 (95% CI: 0.64 0.32) Quigley-Hein index 0.15 0.20 0.09) severity index. When reduced WMDs 0.26 -0.34 0.18) 0.12 0.17 0.08) Loe Silness respectively.
