Food practices, changes, preferences and acculturation of Arab students in US universities

摘要: Knowledge of food practices and preferences various ethnic groups is needed in order to provide effective nutrition education care an increasingly diverse population. Scant information on Arabs the US available. This study investigated practices, changes, acculturation some Arab students universities. After contacting 248 potential participants by e-mail, a questionnaire was mailed convenience sample 70 enrolled universities who were born country had agreed participate. Completed questionnaires returned 45 men women from nine countries five While living US, number meals consumed per day decreased (P < 0.01), eaten out changed Arabic American. Foods most frequently soft drinks, white bread, hot tea, orange juice, tomato, pita olive oil, American coffee bananas.
