摘要: Reported incidence of dengue has increased worldwide in recent decades, but little is known about its Africa. During 1960–2010, a total 22 countries Africa reported sporadic cases or outbreaks dengue; 12 other only travelers. The presence disease and high prevalence antibody to virus limited serologic surveys suggest endemic infection all many parts Dengue likely underrecognized underreported because low awareness by health care providers, prevalent febrile illnesses, lack diagnostic testing systematic surveillance. Other hypotheses explain numbers include cross-protection from flavivirus infections, genetic host factors protecting against disease, vector competence transmission efficiency. Population-based studies illness are needed determine the epidemiology true
