摘要: Naturally occuring polymorphisms in behavior are difficult to map genetically and thus refractory molecular characterization. An exception is the foraging gene (for), a that has two naturally occurring variants Drosophila melanogaster food-search behavior: rover sitter. Molecular mapping placed for mutations dg2 gene, which encodes cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)-dependent protein kinase (PKG). Rovers had higher PKG activity than sitters, transgenic sitters expressing complementary DNA from showed transformation of rover. Thus, levels affected behavior, natural variation accounted behavioral polymorphism.
