摘要: Summary 1. We are now beginning to understand the role of intraspecific diversity on fundamental ecological phenomena. There exists a paucity knowledge, however, regarding how intraspecific, or genetic diversity, may covary with other important factors such as propagule pressure. 2. A combination theoretical modelling and experimentation was used explore way pressure richness interact. compare colonization rates Australian bivalve Saccostrea glomerata (Gould 1885). cross size in factorial design order examine generalities our model. 3. Modelling showed that should generally interact synergistically when positive feedbacks occur (e.g. aggregation). The strength genotype effects depended size, numerical abundance arriving individuals. When very small (<4 individuals), greater unexpectedly reduced colonization. 4. probability S. 76% genetically rich, larger propagules, almost 39 percentage points higher than poor propagules similar size. This pattern not observed less dense, smaller propagules. predict densitydependent interactions between larvae water column explain this pattern.
