Analysis of the wildlife distress and rescue of wild animal mammals in Gangwon province

摘要: This survey aims to provide information on the pattern of distress in wild avian animals Gangwon province. is based 315 which were rescued by Kangwon University Wildlife Rescue Center. The data was collected at Animal Center from September 2007 August 2010, and analyzing shape killed or injured, center seeks an efficient systematic way manage such distress. There are 55 species found, this study including 40 common kestrel, 34 eurasian eagles, 20 buzzards, collared scops owls, 19 oriental 16 brown hawk owls 160 others. These results survey: 129 (40.3%) birds found between June August. Many cases that term observed falling nest losing their mother because unskilled flight during breeding season`s practicing process. Between November December, 64 individual (20.3%) it`s second largest number. main reasons for these starvation exhaustion winter migratory season. indicated reason came following: collision with architecture windows 73 (23.2%), 63 (20.0%), vehicles 51 (16.2%), becoming orphaned 69 (21.9%), trespassing into buildings occurred (6.0%), electric wires 18 (5.7%), poaching materials 13 (4.1%), entangled fishing wire other miscellaneous 4 (1.3%), infection parasites toxicosis toxins like agricultural chemicals 1 case (0.3%). Overall, purpose investigation analyze Korea`s wildlife. used areas, seasons causes understand origins So it can be utilized organized rescue treatment.
