Cognitive rehabilitation with older adults

摘要: The proportion of older adults seeking rehabilitation services are certain to rise as the population ages. Cognitive techniques can be successfully adapted and used with a range clinical diagnoses. An understanding cognitive changes which could expected result “normal” (non-disease-related) aging is essential for both assessment treatment planning this group. Age-related in attention, memory executive functioning briefly noted. Common sequelae head-injury, depression dementia discussed, useful strategies described. Case illustrations illustrate major points.
