摘要: Mass spectrometry is a versatile research tool that has proved to be extremely useful for exploring the fundamental nature of earth's atmosphere and ionosphere in helping solve operational problems facing Air Force Department Defense. In past 40 years, our group at Research Laboratory flown quadrupole mass spectrometers many designs on nearly 100 sounding rockets, nine satellites, three Space Shuttles missions high-altitude aircraft balloons. We have also used instruments ground-based investigations rocket jet engine exhaust, combustion chemistry microwave breakdown chemistry. This paper review instrumentation techniques needed space research, summary results from experiments, an introduction broad field atmospheric general.
